American Percussion's "Travelimba A Unique New World Percussion Instrument.

This is a new percussion instrument I created called the travelimba. It has wooden tongues and a guiro etched into the top edge. In the video I'm using four mallets which some people are not able to do so I created the MALLET FLAM !! which automatically makes the flam sound for you. The back of the travelimba is wood and you can hit that as well. As you can see in the vid you can lay the travelimba on top of a snare drum and play with the snare on or off. You can also create rhythmical sounds by lifting the proximity of the travelimba to the snare drum. The snare drum now becomes a resonator for the travelimba. Oh ! I forgot there is a spring inside the travelimba for added resonance. It's a lot of fun to play !!!
