Up for auction is a Demo Selmer Vanguard 4953 Soprano Sax Case – NO RESERVE
This is a new case that we are downgrading to demo.
This case has never been used but the exterior has minor nicks and scuffs from storage.
The case production model number was 4953 and it was
designed to specifically fit the
Model 53 Selmer Paris Soprano Sax
.
This Vanguard case was built by Selmer USA years ago in their case plant which is now closed.
Vanguard cases are wood shell construction with black leather-like vinyl wrapping and padded stitched sides.
This case has brass hardware with locking latches, keys are included.
The interior insert is a plastic shell covered with a black plush material. This insert can be popped out and some custom work can be done to fit others.
If any customer work is attempted, this case will not be returnable.
Customizing Hints:
Pop out insert.
Peel back black plush material.
Heat bottom side of plastic enough to soften and with a piece of wood, push the plastic down where contact spots hit the horn posts or keys.
Contact areas can also have the plastic cut out and a soft sponge pad can be placed on this area.
Case dimensions: 5 ¾” wide by 9” high by 26” long
Maximum internal length for customer fitting: 25 ¾”
We do not know if this fits the other Selmer Paris Models without customization work.
